Keyssa and Novastar Announce Strategic Partnership
Companies to Design and Market Video Wall Components with Contactless Connectivity
Campbell, California and Xi’an, China – February 4, 2019 – Keyssa, a leader in high-speed, contactless connectivity, and Novastar, a leading LED display solution provider, today announced a strategic partnership to incorporate high-speed contactless “Kiss Connectivity” with Novastar’s LED video wall and display control solutions. The combination provides higher connection reliability of LED panels as well as substantially lower installation and repair cost. Keyssa will be demonstrating its video wall contactless connectivity solution in Novastar’s booth at ISE, February 5 – 8, 2019 in Amsterdam.
“Traditionally, video walls were constructed of ultra-heavy, industrial-grade TV panels connected together by a mess of cables,” said Eric Almgren, CEO at Keyssa. “But Novastar is turning the industry upside down with their modular, easy-to-connect video wall systems. Keyssa’s contactless connectivity is part of this new wave in video wall design, enabling a cable-free, high-speed direct connection between panel and cabinet as well as cabinet-to-cabinet that is more reliable than mechanical connectors as well as much easier to install.”
“We are redefining the way the world thinks about video walls,” said Eric Zong, VP Strategy, Novastar. “Since 2008, when we launched our first products, Novastar’s video wall control systems have more than 60% market share worldwide. We continue to grow because of our focus on integrating the latest technical advancements into our product line, making installation easier for integrators and making the final assembled walls more reliable. Keyssa’s contactless connectivity is an example of technology that helps on both counts.”
Keyssa’s KSS104M Kiss Connectors can be safely tucked inside the skin of products and can transmit and receive data at extremely fast data rates, at speeds up to 6Gbps, simply by the devices “touching” each other. Kiss Connectors are designed to run standard protocols, including USB SS, DisplayPort, V-by-One®, Ethernet, as well as low-speed protocols, with a very small footprint (3mm x 3mm). In video wall applications, Keyssa is commonly used for video transmission from cabinets to LED video panels as well as control signal transmission (cabinet-to-cabinet).
Novastar entered the video wall market in 2008 and by 2018, had more than 60% market share in video wall control systems. In addition to controllers, Novastar designs and markets a line of video wall receiving cards, multimedia players, and a variety of panel and cabinet sensors. LED panel manufacturers and system integrators rely upon Novastar’s technology to build modular video wall components designed to be used not only in commercial installations, but also in small business and residential installations.
