Responsibilities

The Senior/Principal Board/Flex Design Engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of PCBs. Specific responsibilities include:

• Understand system and mechanical requirements and translate them into constraints for rigid and flexible (Flex) PCB design.
• PCB layout of high speed signals alongside low speed signals, power lines, and passive components taking into account DFM and DFT practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams through the design and test cycles.
• Setup and follow through on validation and qualification of the designed PCB by preparing a solid plan and executing on it.
• Export of Gerber and ODB++ files.
• Interface with PCB vendors to resolve issues.
• Execute and stand behind the qualification of the product, from a mass production perspective, in consumer electronic devices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing rigid and flexible PCBs.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software, Altium preferred.
• Knowledge of rigid and flexible PCB fabrication processes and their limitations.
• Experience with Solidworks, Python preferred.
